Hello, Three new items have just been added to the LISSA website. The LISSA Survival Guide offers advice on what to do in Columbia, information on graduate assistantships, contact information for Davis College and USC, parking information, campus libraries, and lots of other goodies. Hello, LISSA will have our first field trip of the year on Friday, September 14th at 3:30. We will be going to the South Carolina Center For Children's Books and Literacy (SCCCBL), which is located on the second floor of the South Carolina State Library. SCCCBL "is the renamed expansion of the USC School of Library & Information Science's former BEST Center for children's book evaluation housed at the State Library in Columbia. Hello, This is Travis Ferrell, the president of LISSA. To everyone coming back or here for the first time, I want to wish you the best of luck this semester. Patrick, our VP, spent a lot of time to make LISSA's new website, wiki, blog, etc. We really do hope that this will allow everyone in the program equal input and participation into LISSA.
