April Atlanta Library & Lunch

Please join your SLISmates for an Atlanta Library & Lunch outing to the Jimmy Carter Library on Friday, April 25, 2008. The Library's Supervisory Archivist, Mr. David Stanhope, will tour us through the Presidential library and inform us of their Archival program that's available for volunteer and internship opportunities. We'll receive an introduction to receiving and processing collections, and conservation methods in place, so be sure to bring your questions! The Library is typically only open to researchers and school group tours so this is a good chance to see the archival collection out of personal/professional curiosity. We'll meet outside the Library at 10:15 am. There is not a charge to tour the library, but if you'd like to go through the museum, there is an admission fee of $6 for students with IDs. The Jimmy Carter Library is located within the Carter Center, off Freedom Parkway in Midtow Atlanta. http://www.jimmycarterlibrary.gov...
